Introduction to Painted Bird
Painted Bird is one of Auckland's only truly sustainable fashion boutiques. Its range of genuine vintage clothing is painstakingly curated by owner and stylist, Stephanie King, whose obsession with vintage and retro is matched only by her commitment to sustainable shopping. Stephanie’s mantra is "buy once, buy right."
Stephanie seeks out garments from across the decades, along with current on-trend ethically made accessories so these timeless styles can be incorporated into existing wardrobes. From the decadence of Art Deco, the elegance of mid-century fashion, and the exaggerated styles of the seventies and eighties, Stephanie has it covered.
Her clients appreciate two kinds of feel-good: knowing that they're wearing a gorgeous, uniquely authentic item, and that this fashion creates no negative environmental impact.
As a complement to Painted Bird's usual styling services, Stephanie is hosting a series of four special events. Each event is designed to help break through barriers of shopping sustainably and ethically, and encourage a new clientele’s exploration of exquisite European vintage clothing.
